One needle type, three gauges

0.25, 0.30 and 0.35, kept in order on the stand so he never loses track of which one is in the machine.

0.25 for the light tones

Smaller dots, the softest gradient the needle can give. The on-screen readout tracks the gauge and voltage on every pass.

The whip motion, on skin

Short, controlled passes that build dotted texture instead of a hard, flat shadow. Mid tones on the 0.30.

Trauma-free, so it survives healing

Light passes and careful wiping, so the fine texture is still there once it heals, not just in the fresh photo.
